I will have to check shaft depth, I will also have to check the hull for a hook.
Here are some pictures of the boat. 82flatdeck's Recent Uploads | Photobucket

I measured the prop shaft depth on my Kaama this past weekend. With a notched transom, the prop shafts were 8" deep. I'm guessing that with the notch the boat is actually slower than a non-notched boat. The drives are just way to deep, and the notch will only make them deeper. Now, I think with what I'm going to be doing, the notch will benefit me, in addition to the 10" extension boxes, I think the boat will really perform well. So again- 420 engines, with merlin intakes and holley 850 carbs, EMI thunder exhaust, prop shaft depth of 8", 23 mirage props, and a top speed of 63-64 MPH.
I did take a straight edge to my hull for a hook, there was zero hook or rocker to my hull.
I've not had much of a chance to dig into this yet. I've been busy stripping down the Formula and selling/shipping the parts out.

Prop technology back then really limited drive heights. I bet you could get by with raising at least 5 maybe 6 inches. Good look and enjoy. I totally restored to bare fiberglass a mini me 38 kv. Composite laminate 31 Scarab viper that I still enjoy running. Something about flat decks.
