22' Scarab guys ring in
I just purchased a 98 22’ Scarab. I really love everything about the boat except the dash. I find it to be bland at best. Has anyone done any unique modifications to improve the appearance? I will soon be replacing all of my gauges, and switches. The fake carbon fiber bezel on mine is cracked and I know better than to try and find a replacement from Wellcraft. I’m thinking making one from stainless steel or Aluminum would look cool. If anyone of you 22’ Scarab guys have a cool looking dash (or any other modifications) then share it with us. It has been too quiet here in the Scarab section.
Thanks
Roby

gaffrig by livorsi www.livorsi.com has a ton of bezels in dferent colors adn sizes. Prolly be cheaper than have your own custom made.
if your changing out your guages the carbon fiber autometers are pretty trick looking.

Well, your in luck! I have a 94 that i too thought the dash was boring. I removed the aluminum panels and sprayed them metallic green (the same as my engine) and then I flicked white tremclad onto it with a brush, and then clear coated the dash. I installed white anodized bezels behind the original gauges and the results are great!

Roby, Welcome aboard! I think all Scarab's come with sh!tty dash panels. I took mine over to a company called Gartner Coatings (281-997-3500 ask for Devin Myers). They can do a couple things (paint or powercoat your dash panel. Here's a picture of mine afterwards. Hope this helps.

P.S. -- Gartner Coatings are the guys who paint all the channel markers/buoys etc... So they're guaranteed not to rust/corrode etc.. for 10 yrs. I also had them paint my trailer. Sorry no photo's to share. It looks great and is also guaranteed not to rust for 10 yrs!

I have the same Faux Carbon Fiber. A little while back I think saw in Hot Boat, sheets of real Carbon Fiber. Its down on my list of things, but I'm not there yet. Just an option. Doug
