Hello all,
I have been debating adding a drive shower to my 502MPI / Bravo. I do plan to do several poker runs this year and top end is something I love to do so is it a good thing to do or is there a better way to ensure drive will not overheat?

Forget buying it on Ebay, call Teague custom Marine and mail order the one they have...should cost around $120 or so...pretty easy to install

Well more stuff...
Went out today with my new Mirage Plus 29P and found the limit to the HP of the 502. Never made it to 4600 and slowed down. So much for that well had fun experimenting
Can hit the rev limiter in a hurry with the 25P so I guess a 26 or 27 is in order. Anybody have good luck with 4 blade props?
Needless to say I have a 29P for sale

502scs, I had tried a Bravo1 26 pitch on my 22, but I didn't like that prop because it produces to much bow lift, so now i ordered a 26 hydromotive. As regarding revs, with that prop it use to hit 5000 rpm, so I think you should go for a 27p, since with a 25 you are hitting the rev limiter.

So you think that a 27P 3 blade mirage plus would be your best stab at it ?

Yes, 502 scs. Cause I tried the 25 mirage and the Bravo 26 and I both turned them at 5000rpm. So I would go for the 27 and give it a try. (try and borrow one before you buy it) .

Oh it is possible. I have 454MPI but after my mild mods I can't really say what the horsepower is at this point. It really woke up the engine though.

At 73 what RPM were you turning and what prop is on it ?
At that altitude do you get a nose bleed?

Thats wicked! What type of mild mods did you do?? Although the speed is 73.5, from the pics you posted the boat looks rock solid, can you confirm?

Guys I know everyone loves the boat they have but you would have to ride in the 23 SCS to understand that it is not the usuall 23' boat ! This article describes it pretty good

Consider Wellcraft's new Scarab 23 SCS. At $2225 a foot, the 23-ft. Scarab costs three times as much as bargain boats of the same length. The difference? The SCS can top 75 mph with a single 502-cu.-in. MerCruiser V8 hitched to a Bravo I sterndrive. Cruising speed is more than 50 miles per hour, faster than most competitors' top speeds.
But this is no overpowered bass boat. The SCS is a deep-V offshore powerboat, capable of handling a wide variety of broken water. Like larger Scarabs, it has speed strakes molded into the hull for directional stability and completely fiberglass construction that uses a NASA bonding technique called Plexus.
If the booming exhaust note and blinding speed don't attract enough attention, the SCS's bright-orange finish, wraparound seating and sports-car instrumentation ought to make you king of the marina. Despite its diminutive size and single engine, this is a serious boat for a high-performance driver.
