I have an 86' 30 panther that has been a two + year upgrade project. Where I had to replaced the stringers and transom converted from trs to bravo ones and put imco extension boxes on raised the x dimension and hopefully the the 502's will be going in the next 2 months or so. is yours a bravo or trs boat?

Nice boat, just painted a race faring for a fried of mine, His screen name is Blue Thunder, was going to post some pics, but just remembered went back to cheapo status, but anyway I like the color combo on your boat, and 502 your boat is super nice, always liked Panthers. Blue Thunders Scarab Panther, has 468s with the small 525 blowers on, and he's getting 94mph out of it, maybe he'll chim in, road with him on a porker run and that was one crazy ride....

s-type and panther decks are the same. The S-Tpes had a black frame windshield and were advertised to have the twin gale banks turbos on the old log 330 engine and manifolds for a claim of 475hp.

The Panthers wore a new race fairing and the newer 365hp with some being trs and others Bravos. Also the Panthers had bolsters where i believe the S Type did not have them but i could be wrong.

Just my 02 cents of bad memory.

Also other than Brownies quirkie 24 Nova design the 30 Scarab is by far my favorite looking classic boat.

S-types definetly had bolsters, mine also has all black gelcoat in the cockpit, not sure if this was unique of the S-types. I also think the engine compartment vents are different and I think I read some where that the engine hatch on the panther was a single hatch and hinged from the rear where the s-types are two hatches hinged from the side.
