What drive height are you guys running on your 22s? (Prop shaft to bottom of hull) I am running a built 502/Bravo 1 setup, recently switched to 1.50 gears after the 1.36 blew up. Short lower with low water pickup only. I can't stay hooked up with any 3 blade I've tried, and I don't have much trim with my 26p Bravo 1 4 blade before it starts to let go at any speed. I get about 68MPH on GPS at 5100RPM, ~20% slip on the Bravo 1, and I'm not getting much hull out of the water. I'm thinking about trying a standard lower to keep me hooked up. Any thoughts on that? I'll have to do some measuring next time I'm out to see my current drive height.

We have tried all of those things (shorty lower etc) and what works best is a standard length lower with a 3 blade mirage or tempest propeller. 1.50 ratio. Also, I recommend looking into some hydraulic assist steering to hold the drive firm while at speed, it helps a lot.

I myself seems to be stuck at 82,4mph.
Have tried a bunch of different props. Best one so far is a Tempest plus 25P. (I run with 1,32 ratio)

Nice I'm glad the tempest worked for you, I bet you notice a lot of bow lift and more trimming capability.
We haven't obtained a new top speed yet with the weather here at 95 degrees with 100% humidity it really effects the engine on the big end. I can run 86 consistently in those conditions. Might see some different numbers once the cool weather moves in. Get some video of your boat running!

It works fine but I'm still hunting for more speed ;-) The fastest so far is 83,5mph. So making everyday 86 runs is still just a goal to aim for.

I'm looking forward to see results with your 540

Hello I'm new to this site and am actively looking for a good Pachanga 22. After researching the Internet trying to learn more about the boats I discovered that the 22 hull may have experienced design changes during the 1986 - 1991 time period, and perhaps the hull got longer, wider, and a bit heavier beginning in 89? 1986 specs show length at 20.83 with a 96 inch beam compared to 1989 specs show at 21.17 and a 102 inch beam. Is iboats just out to lunch or are these specs actually accurate?
Additionally, I saw a post that claimed the stock 7.4 boats came with a different hull than the stock 5.7 boats. Not sure if this means anything either. Can any of you shed some light on this topic?
