A/C is next weekend and it is a bigger event.
If offshore could get together and learn to play together......
Maybe put one in the early summer and one in the early Fall....

Dean's question is what I was going to ask. How does having 10 boats show up, justify having a race? Who wins? Everybody? What's the point in racing, with so few teams attending?

James,
That is what I was thinking too. Does it hurt more to burn one of the premier race sites in the world with this turnout or do you gracefully cancel and wait to regroup the fleet?

If you're paid in advance and/or honoring your contract you have the race or take one on the chin and take a huge loss... If you have the race, even with a crappy turn-out at least you had some fun taking it in the can with all the losses you've incured.
I took my boat up Saturday to take a look at the pits. It was depressing walking around the pits...
Hopefully next year it wont be an issue since the OPA race will be in June..

We launched from Newburgh and headed down to see the race. We've done this every year since 2001, was actually a patrol boat in 2001 and we happend to be stationed right across from the Towers, so every boat picture I took had the towers in the backround, 2 days later they were gone.
The first year we went down we had about 15 -20 HP boats make the trip, people came from all around to join us, yesterday my truck was the only one in the parking lot.
Anway, one of the best races ever, was the year after, when all the organizations put their B.S. aside and joined forces to memorialize 911, what a FANTASTIC race and turnout.
If this is JC's fault, why oh why won't he just sell the NYC venue to a real organization and not waste people's time and money putting on a PATHETIC race with 10 boats.
