I found out this morning that my Dad will be at a service being held at the VFW.
I plan to surprise him by meeting him there.
I hardly get to spend the time I would like to with my Dad and today I cleared my schedule to spend time doing some catching up...
Only if I had my cameras today...
I will try to put something together to hopefully capture some of the moments...
Thanks for the comps on the images...

Today was so long over due and something I have been wanting to with my Dad forever.
I never miss a call to my Dad on Veterans Day thanking him for his service.
I always seem to be away somewhere on this day such as last year I was in Key West.
Just this time today with him was well worth giving up a full week in Key West.
He had no idea I was coming to the VFW for the ceremony.
I arrived early just so I could be there when he arrived and once he did he was thrilled to see me there.
He went on with the introductions of his fellow Vets and he had stories coming out as if it all happened yesterday. It amazes me how he can remember every detail and every terrain he took in Korea as a Marine.
I managed to scrap up my stock lens for my Canon Rebel and it did the job for me today !
I captured the ceremony as best as I could...
Towards the end once the trumpet began to play, I turned to my Dad and gave him a huge hug thanking him for making it home safely...
May many more be so lucky as my Dad....
Thank you again to our Veterans and their families.
We are all forever grateful.
