24 Skater
Considering a 24 Skater to use as a lake boat. Probably looking mid-1980's to mid 1990s based on advertised prices.
What should I expect to pay for one (say 1990 as a mid point)? What should I look out for that's specific to this boat?
Thanks,
Sean

It'll depend on the engines and the condition, but I'd say anywhere from $30,000 to $40,000 for something decent.
A couple of years ago, you couldn't find any of them under $35,000, and that's if you could find them.
Recently, there seems to be a lot more of them for sale. Check over on screamandfly.com in the classfieds.

Dang! Busted by another Pantera guy! Thanks man. I had a look. I saw a couple there and a couple on the classifieds here. I wondered if the price ranges were reasonable or not.
What are the common issues with the older 24s?

All it takes is a dollar and a dream, Rob...
Considering something older just to bang around at the lakes with. The 28 Pantera is too much boat for the smaller lakes we have out here (as are 90% of the other boats on the lakes!). Probably all a fools-errand anyhow, but you never know!
Nice to know that all of us Pantera guys apparently have Skater envy!

I just bought a 24 Skater- 1989. Give me a call anytime, I'm happy to help. I spent several months looking and asking questions so I might be able to save you some time.

Man! Thank god I didn't get caught like this when I used to go out on my college girlfriends!
Loved the 24 Pantera and miss that little boat, but it wouldn't run 100. At least not with me in it!
