That's exactly what anyone should do. It takes 5 minutes....

Cale, you probably could have sent me a text, & had the answer in a few minutes

My boat is an 05, and I had the tanks done about 2 years ago, even though they were not damaged.

Peter himself told me, that they started using the different material on their tanks that prevents ethanol damage, in 2005. Since my boat was actually "started" in late 04, it's tanks had not been coated with their new material.

I usually run straight race fuel, which will not damage the tanks, but I wanted to have the piece of mind of having them done, just in case.

The 24's & 28's are typically $5k or so. The 36's are typically $6-$7k, and it goes up in roughly $2k increments from there based on the size of the boat.

The easiest way to tell, is what RunninHot said; check your fuel filters for a white or reddish powder.

I believe Freedom 1 has them, but Jim can confirm on the ATL's.

Super old thread, BUT, I just got done inspecting my tanks, (pulled out the fuel senders), H2O filters for the second time, and I have found nothing to indicate that my tanks are delaminating or getting soft. No particles of any color or kind are in the H2O filters, the tanks are ~ 3/4 full now, but looking down in thru the fuel sender hole w/ an a LED flashlight, all I see is solid looking glass, (I can see some "Skater Print thru", but all looks good. I know my tanks have NOT been done according to the previous owner, and I have tried to call Skater a couple of times to get confirmation, but I can't seem to get anyone to pick up the phone. She's a 2000 with only has 152 hrs on her now, and the previous owner, (2nd owner, we are the 3rd owners) stated that she has only had Non-Ethanol fuel in her, so I'm trying to gauge my timeline of if/when I should get the tanks recoated.
I be might signing a new contract that will take me out of country for up to 5 months, and I'm thinking NOW might be the time......
Thanks in advance, for any input from the Skater Nation brothers!
Skater Dean.

BTW, We LOVE our 32B!

Melbourne Airshow last weekend with my youngest daughter Christi.
