I have measured X Dimension I just don't remember what we wrote down. Need to measure again. Ran at 6000 for only 1 minute or so. Water pressure on 1 motor is tapped out (way too high) the other was at 25 lbs. 5500 RPM ran in both directions for 4 to 5 minutes each time so the 5500 is ran out for awhile. When AJ had the boat at 160 (the GPS says 160 still, I have had it at 146 during Desert Storm Poker Run 2 years ago) it was 1.24 gears and in Salt Water and would expect good tempatures. I always run in 100 degrees tempatures.

He had non branded motors with 10:71 blowers. He said he was making over 1,100 HP. Each time I passed him, he was topped out at about 145. If AJ ran 160, I'll bet he was making well in excess of 1,000 HP.
I have to agee, but some people lie about hp or estimate. Consider who dynoed the motors and what was on them when dynoed. The reason seems to be that some builders will stretch the numbers or run the motors stripped down. If Mark (the guy who built AJs motors) says 1000 they are 1000. I can tell you his 36 Skater did run 160 with 1000hp. I want to say I remember them barely making 1000hp at the time when he had the 36. Very fast hull it dose'nt take much to be in the top group with one of those.
Don't claim to know why this 36 is not running faster but here is where I would look

Gear? What gear does it have now 1:24 or 1:35

Water pressure? If the water pressure is high that is one of the first things I would go after. Try the same props and raise the pickups. You can definatly loose speed there. Then try some with less rake (keep an eye on the H2O psi when changing props)

Rotation of the drives?

Down on power? He says they are fresh so should not be the first thing to look at.

You also may need to stay at 6000 for a longer period if you have the room. Just because the motors get there dose'nt mean the boat is done accelerating.
There is a lot to watch but try to notice if the MPH is still growing over that min of sitting at 6000 if so you've got more in there you just need more room

That was AJ's boat, He made 1030hp on our dyno compleat dress including trany. We ran 160 in lake pontchartrain, brackish water 90+ air temp New orleans humidity. 6400 37 herings 1.24 gears trim neutral, that boat did not need much trim but you need a "real" 1000+hp.
Mark
P.S. Aj did not spill his drink but did squeal a little

Impressive. Do you dyno all your motors with complete dress and the trans? For comparison purposes, how much horsepower do you estimate it takes to do it this way versus without all the accessories? What would you estimate the hp is from those motors at the crank? What was the supercharger and was it carbuerated or fuel injected?

16% is a bad slip #for a old V bottom!!!
Is this your first cat? just asking?
what did the rooster look like?

Most 36s like 24 ratio..
Something is way off !!!
4,444 prop speed should have you in the 155 range at least!!
If your running to much positive trim to get that RPM your down on power,, or the X is too high..
DOnt remember if that hull had tabs..if so they should be up at that speed..

Tabs are up, messed with trim and found a spot where it runs best speed. Could running 18 degree rake hurt the classic deck? Need to run the boat more of course but I just can't get out enough. It will be another two or three weeks before I can run it again.
