VERY NICE JOB!!! Would also like to see pics on the Verado electric pump interfaced with open center helm . I have looked into this a great deal and decided this was the way to go . How many turns lock to lock is it ?

It is my understanding that a non-powered system uses a manual pump connected to the steering wheel (Capilano Pump typically). An on-demand type booster pump like a Sea Star can be added to this type of system. To use a full power steering constant duty pump like an automobile pump or a Verado pump, requires a valve that is controlled via the steering wheel (Char Lynn valve). This type of valve is used also on large earth-moving equipment. Four hoses are required to be plumbed to the valve. Attached is an excerpt for the Verado pump installation manual. I'll check the turns to lock and post that when I am back at the boat. Let me know if I can give additional help. David.
