Let's just say that my 338 with whipped 588's will roll pass 130 so quickly. Once your at 100 it just takes off. So steady!
So back to the question 565's with Arnesons that boat should run 140's if it is propped according. Which would be a very simple boat. 700's IMO would be the perfect setup for an Inboard setup.
Keep in mind that insurance drastically changes over 130 mph. Like 3 to 4 times higher..

I wonder how much Peter would charge me to widen and stretch my 24' into a 46'? By the way, there is NO malice here on this fantastic project going on, just me making a funny. Too bad I have had to put this addendum on here as I have been quizzed about my intentions, not by my Skater Bro's but other bunghole lemon juice face mofo's. This in case they have been trolling here..

Using the actual data from my 30 in Bam's speed calculator, if I swapped my 800hp Sterlings with 565 Mercs (taking these motors at stated hp) my 30 would run a best of 135mph (trust me guys, this "speed calculator" is dead-on once you have actual data). I personally would not own a 30 with this light of power, as in real-world conditions (passenger/fuel load, heat, water conditions) the boat would be underpowered. Helt, your boat has my basic motors with the addition of superchargers mainly because Rik feels that it's a better boat with the additional torque/hp of the blower motors. Light power in any pleasure Skater is no good. Three weeks ago I took two clients and two buddies of mine (all 200+#s) to SF for the day and ran right at 150 on the way back with half tanks of fuel in 80 degree temps. If I had a pair of 565s in the boat that same day, I would've probably been doing good to break 120 (weight/heat effects speed more with lighter power). And Helt, your boat is a monster just waiting to be unleashed - it would easily run into the 170s if you wanted it to. The attached pic is of my motley crew from that day!

Dale I see you refreshed the interior, lookin good.
Your right that calculator is pretty close. I checked on a few boats that I have the data for and its within 5 mph every time. But normally on the slow side.
PS- for some of us small power is affordable, maintainable and insurable. Lol

Hey everybody, Here are some new pics from the factory. Some Are similar. If you notice the pic of the stern you can see there are no notches cut into the rear bottom of the sponsons. There won't be. Pete confirmed they will be mounting 12 inch extension boxes to the stern. The jackplates then get mounted to them. lets the prop run in cleaner water and gives it the characteristics of a bit larger boat. Had a 12 inch bracket on my Checkmate and it ran much better and even picked up a bit on the high end. Should be interesting. we will see. Steve.
