I have been in contact with unlimited Marine for over a month now about this 35' sonic........it is in winter storage now and I plan on taking a trip over before spring......does anyone know the boat or any history on the boat that can give me some insight........I really love the Diablo Paint and the way she is painted throughout the dash. The only thing that scares me a bit is the 575's..........I have questiond about them recently in the tech section here and they get a pretty good recomendation.......but does anyone know this boat in question..... are the drives (XR's with stand off boxes) up for the job with the 575's?? thanks in advance..............John

Well since no one has replied I'll give you $.02 worth
Be careful of the 575sc the rebuild times depending on how they are run can be very low. That boat says it has a 150hrs and if it was run hard it could need a rebuild now and could have drive problems as well. I am not saying it does have any of those problems I am just saying do your home work. Also that boat is a 2002 for that year I would only pay $100-115k. If you knew what you could buy a new one for you and others (if you/they don't already) would be shocked. And you would realize that a lot of these Sonics on the market are way over priced. Any way I'm off my soap box

nice boat if it's price rite for you that's all that count's..
everyone and there freinds can get a better deal and will tell you your paying to much $$ and of course they have no boat . but if you go by a brand new one you will probily spend 75 k more complete out the door .
so if if you can take a few dollars of that price and expect to spend some money on a rebuild down the road i'm shure you will be happy with that boat ..
good luck

we did inquire about that boat. They have it on brokerage. We just took possession on our '02 358 and it is beautiful. We are elelecting to to a top on the 500 EFI's before we launch it in the spring. The cabin and amenities are excellant like no other boat.
I do know of anohter pretty nice '02 out there.

The blowers should be rebuilt between 175 and 200 hours. The Blower Shop rebuilt mine for about $900.00 each. As a precaution, it would be a good idea to have the drives rebuilt too.
The 575's have mechanical cams so the valve spring should be checked and adjusted at least once a year. Mercs head gaskets suck, so at the very least, I would have them replaced.
It's tough to think that if you buy this or any other used boat, you should rebuild it right away but at least you will know exactly what you have. Even brand new motors and drives break.
The best deals are when the buyer and seller both walk away happy.
Good Luck
