Default 31SS without Hydraulic Steering?

Is aftermarket difficult to install? Is this a necessity on a Sonic?

It's not terrible to add after the fact, but expensive. There are kits for it, they run $3-5K. Sonic uses a dual cable steering system, which is much safer than the single. That boat should run about 75mph and should have hydraulic, but if it's a good deal, I wouldn't let it stop me. If it was unsafe, they wouldn't have built it that way. Just be sure everything is tight and well lubed, like a good woman! Got your message, I'll call you later today.

Default K planes?

I also noticed the tabs do not look to be actual K planes but they have a Sonic emblem on them? The boat is a 2004.
Is this a newer style hull? Just trying to get the full scoop on this year and options an such.

Where is the a/c on a 31 Sonic and can it be run off of like a small Honda EU1000 portable generator and plug into shore power outlet while we are out on the water?

'03 and newer is the new infused hull. I run the 2000series Honda w/ no worries, not sure if the 1000 would do it. As for the steering, like Chris said,u can easily add it. 75 and under u don't need it anyway.

With stock 496 HO's it doesn't have to have ext. steering for safety but I think it make the boat handle better and more fun to drive. No more torque steer. I think it is standard on all new 31ss sonics.

You will enjoy it much more than you think. I wont ever have a boat with out dual ram to helm...after having one with it.
