Default Trim Tab Indicator Cables

Is it possible to do it yourself? I have two new cables for my 2003 358 that I need to install. Has anyone done this? Is there anything I should know. I am doing this because one snapped at the actual tab on the port side, so it seemed better to just repalce them both before the season.

Any advice is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Yes it is possible to do it but a helping hand would be a great addition for pulling the cable through not only the transom but feeding them up to the helm. Find and follow the old cables and do one at a time.

Use the old cable to pull the new cable through the pipe to the helm.

TY you both for this. So I should start with the fresh cable from the exterior of the boat and follow the existing cable? Is that how it goes? My guess is that both sides are not the same length. I wonder if you could break this down into steps that look like this:

1. do xyx
2. do abc

I don't mean to be simple but I want to get this right. I appreciate by Sonic colleagues and thier experience and thank you in advance.

OK, this job is done as of 3:00 PM today. Worked offline with a mechanic from my marina and did both cables.

Done deal.
