What year was this started? What kinds of problems did they have in the beginning, I thought that I heard they did have some problems. Would you buy a boat from this first year they did it? Specifically a 31.

2003 was the first year for the 31ss, mine is a 31ss and I dont have any issues. I am not sure what problems they had if any.

When Sonic first started they only did a few models and only did the lower half not the insert or top. I think it was the 31and 38's. They started in 2002 but the boats carried a 2003 serial #. Right Jim

So on all 2004 31's were any and all problems fixed. Would anybody have any problems with buying a 2004? How would you compare a 31 Sonic to a 28 Pantera in ride mostly but also construction?

" I never heard of any problems with the 31's" just the bigger boats. Somebody else may know.

That is correct...

Bigboat28, I wouldn't be afraid of any year 31ss. As long as it has been taken care of...

Been in the pantera and own a 31ss sonic, sonic hands down for size and ride. Not saying pantera is a bad boat, just the extra size for the twins makes a difference.
