Places to find used boats?
My name is Bill and I'm new to this forum. My current boat name is "Oh Bouy" and it's a 20' Yamaha squirt boat. I live in northern VA, but do most of boating in Solomon's, MD. I grew up in Calvert. I guess you can call me a yupneck!
I've looked at many different styles of go fast boats and have narrowed it down to one that fits my overall needs. The Sonic 31 SS. I plan on buying one next spring.
Now my question. Where on and off line can I find these puppies? Right now I've been searching through:
BoatTrader.com
SaltyDog.com
OffShoreOnly.com
H2OPerformance.com
iBoats.com
Are there any other places on line?
Also, Off Shore Performance in MD looks like a good place to look. Anybody bought from them before? If so, how were they to deal with? Full Tilt is next door too, but have heard to many horror stories about those guys.
Thanks in advance.
Bill

I have done business with Frank and Hugh at Offshore Performance. You can't beat them on the East Coast, and for that matter, probably most of the country. Full Tilt sucks, and you can speculate why Frank moved from FTM to OP and took the Sonic franchise with him. You can do a search of all the threads in the Sonic forum over the past year or so, and I have mentioned NUMEROUS times they have come through for me. The Sonic factory even has a used 31SS for sale. www.sonicusaboats.com
You may even find some for sale here on OSO. Rates are SCHAWEET right now on new boats, and you may want to order one.
I am also in Northern VA; keep my 26' Sonic in Woodbridge, and live in Centreville at the moment. Feel free to drop me a line with any questions. I have met the President as well as the COO of Sonic, and they are both fantastic gentlemen to work with. Best of Luck.
Dano from here on OSO is also a Sonic dealer in Ohio, and has a 31 I believe for sale. It is a demo. He sold a 26' Prowler to a guy here in NoVa as well, and Dano come very highly recommended as well.

Also, look for Pwrbt33 here on OSO. He is John Smith, Mechanic for OP in Grasonville.

bn and Sydwayz,
Thanks for the feedback. I will definitely visit OP early next spring. I will also talk to Dano then too. I have a Cheby 3500 HD TD to haul a boat in case I purchase out of state.
Nice to hear that a mechanic from OP is online too.
Do you keep your Sonic at Tyme n Tyde? I kept mine there last year and it's a great place. A few friends of mine keep boats there. Also got some friends in Goose Bay, Port Republic, MD.
This is definitely a great forum to watch. As a newbie I'll try to keep the mundane questions to a minimum and do more searches of the archives.
Thanks again,
Bill
