Default How Big Does the water get???

Hey Guys ,

I am contiplating going to the Lake Cumberland Poker Run.

I am worried that the water may get a little big for the Howard 28.

Have any of you guys been in the past?
Pretty rough?

The whole get out in front idea wont work , because there are gonna be some big bad A boats there.

I may just co pilot for someone but wanted to ask what you guys thought.....

Cya on the water..........Come down to CTR hill we could use the company.

MP,
Went last year, had a ball. The water was rediculously rough, and hard to read because it's so inconsistent.
I did not run in the PR, because of that. I have friends with 38 'ers that say the same.
If you go, feel free to hang out with us.
76 Falls is rockin' ...........just remember to bring beads!
Steve

I have done the run for the last 3 years running in a 30 Spectre with 500's. We run around 100 MPH the whole run and yes it is rough. You should be fine as long as you don't try to overdo it.

It is one of the best runs there is. They let the boats out in 5 classes according to the speed yo are running. Fastest go last. So just pick a class a little under your boats capacity and you should be comfortable.

I ran during the run last year in a Baja 272....Spent most of my time in the air..pretty rough ride, but had a blast!! Honestly, any boat will have a bumpy ride, I dont care how big it is....Steve is right though, 76 Falls is worth the trip no matter what the water!!!

I did the run in a 25 Eliminator Eagle several years ago. It did punish the boat a little and I couldn't run much over 55 in most areas. There are a few smoother spots. The area on the main channel where the State Dock and Jamestown are is very, very rough. Was trying to run 65 in a 28 Daytona and almost flipped when a bunch of waves coalesced. While I was setting in the water trying to recover my engine hatch I noticed even the 30+ boats were having to be cautious. I say enter have fun and be careful. For most the run is not a race. Eric

Little does Brian know.....we are spending our whole day at 76 Falls....no rough water for the Outlaw! We will have a 30 gal. bag full of beads for OTHERS to earn! Remember be careful of the turns heading back to the falls...remember the boat that sunk 2 years ago. That crap is too narrow it scares me.

So Cora,
Are you going to model some beads for us?
Beads are a terrible thing to waste!
