Default Visiting Kentucky Lake?

Hey guys, we're thinking about towing down to KY Lake in a few weeks for a visit. Assuming you can shedule some better weather than what we may have in Michigan!

Can you give me a heads up on what ramp to use, marina for a slip, should we sleep on board or get room? Where to park truck. Good general area to get a burger & beer, etc.

Thanks, I'll bring an extra cooler for all who help!!!

Dave

I'm looking at Ky Dam Marina, to slip & launch. Sound ok?

Then may get room at Ky Dam Vill State Park.

Comments?

The KY Dam Village is a very nice area to stay with a first rate ramp. Buy your booze, if you're into that sort of thing, before you get there 'cause, the best I remember, it's a pretty good distance to any once you get there.

Great lake and can ride for days. Ky Dam Village is very nice. Also a few miles down the lake is Moors Resort. Both are very nice and have hotel or cabins. Moors has covered transient slips, don't think Ky Dam does. Good luck and enjoy. Might be able to get some good info on WKPA thread. All western KY guys who boat that lake a lot.

You'e staying at a great place! If you want a good burger try Buzard Rock Marina by water on Lake Barkley, take a lake map and follow the channel markers. If you want the best pork chop you will ever have go to Patties Settlement, by land. If you like "party cove" hang outs go to the rock quary.

Have a great trip, be safe and have fun. If you realy like the water come back for the Poker Run.

Good choice!! The weather forcast looks good for the week-end,, so far,,, It seems liked it's rained everyweek sense christmas!! You'll want to stop somewhere and get your "refreshments" before you get to the Hotel & Marina, when you cross the Ohio River , it's pretty much "dry" all the rest of the way here. There is a couple of good web-sites about the area,, you can follow the links at www.kylakepokerrun.com If you go over to Barkley Lake, like Liquidsation said, follow the channel bouys!!!
