Well wife and I are finally seriously looking to buy a home in Cape Coral area or area similar....Thinking being on the West coast is where we would like to be. Hoping some of you already there or knowledgeable of these areas can give us some guidance of where to look, what's available, etc.
Thanks,
Chris

3/4 of an acre waterfront will be tough to find on a budget.........a town/city that will allow you to build a workshop/toy storage on the waterfront is going to be impossible. Steel sheds stuffed in the side yard are going to be a no no in most communities (won't meet wind codes or get "architectural review board" approval).

A Florida toy barn consists of a 3000 sq foot house up on 12' concrete pylons .No worries about your house flooding and tons of room below the house.
No need to enclose unless you want a/c in the toybarn.

Bonita Springs has large lots that are 10 minutes from 2 boat ramps that is only a 10 minute idle out to the Gulf.
Also you are only a nice 20 minute beach drive North to all the wacky bars in Fort Myers or a 20 minute drive South to the Swanky Restaurants and Bars on 5th Ave in Naples.

Where do you live in Naples? I just moved my boat to Marco for the winter months. We crash at my parents house in Naples when we come down in the winter for long weekends.

My parents have a home in Lely, near 951 & Rattlesnake.
We will be flying down Friday evening for the holiday week... Was hoping to boat this weekend, but looks to be wet this weekend.
