Jay Pilini, the master boat builder has completed the molds on his 34 foot catamaran; model name 34 XCS. The Pilini camp has been quiet as weeks and months pass and not a single peep. Today the molds have finally emerged in beautiful black shine. With a running surface of 34' 3" and a tunnel width of 59", this cat is ready to roll among the big guns!

With a beam of 10 feet, Jay's new model can safely carry the new big motors from Mercury Racing. The new model is aimed directly at the 400R and 400ROS motors. Although this hull is Uuuuge, she has a lightweight construction because of the materials that will be used throughout the build process. Exotic materials such as Carbon, Kevlar, and Core Cell will be standard in all builds. Gone are the wood laminates such as balsa, this hull is built to last.

The hull bottom is a 5-step design to air out the running surface. The cockpit boasts a wrap-around windshield and has seating for 6. Four-across rear bench will be a welcome space for those who have a large crew or for just sitting and relaxing with the scenery.

Pilini 34 XCS cat molds are polished, waxed and ready to roll.

...stay tuned as we deliver more info and build pics of this awesome new cat!

The deck design of any boat is probably the most visible part that makes a manufacturer different from all the rest. Jay Pilini's 34 has definitely hit some design cues that would make his new 34 cat very unique. The deck will incorporate hatches that are very functional. The starboard hatch for instance will carry both the anchor and fenders. But besides the functionality aspect of it, the deck has some great new lines that reminds me of a sports car when viewed from the rear. Let's see what other design elements will be added to the deck while its being completed this week. Waiting anxiously for Jay's next set of pics and I will post asap.
