Question Sunsation 288 or 32

Anyone know the the limits on speed for these hulls? What kind of power does it take for either to go how fast? Looking to upgrade from the 24' Warlock (Euro) and like the looks of the Sunsation as it mirrors the look of my current boat. I also have the need for speed and want to get a feel for what it takes power wise to go certain speeds. The Warlock is in the low 80's GPS with low boost procharged 454 mag and dont want to go backwards on speed as I go bigger. Any help and or input would be greatly appreciated. The Warlock has a new home just as soon as I find my next rocket .

There are several 32's that are at or over the 100 mph mark. Numerous 28's in the 80's. I think you should have no problem meeting your goals.

my 32 runs over 100mph. check it out in the classified section. Let me know if you have any other questions, I have done quite a bit of testing different setups with this boat.

For my 288 to reach 72, it takes one of Mercury's Racing HP500EFI.

As for the others, I'm sure they will chime in with there setups.

p.s. if I was keeping mine, I would Whipple. You would see mid 80's then!

Hey B2B, I just looked through my office for a picture of my old boat, but can't find one. The reason I wanted to scan and post it is becuase I went through the same thing 5 years ago!

My 94 Chalenger had a 550hp 502ci. It ran 79.8 on radar! It was a wild ride. I learned an awfull lot on her. I also when though 3 Bravos before learning how to treat one.

My boat now runs 70 all day any day, and I too was worrie about the speed difference. But once O took a test drive, I put those worried to rest!

The main reason was the smooth ride! Even when it got rough, at 65 mph it was more fun to run this Sunsation than it was my older boat! Putting the wife screaming aside, the old boat was a back braker! Now, she enjoys it as much as I do!

The best thing for you is to test run the boats on your short list. everyone here can tell you what they think is the best for you, but we don't know you! So the only way for you to be sure of what you want, test drive!!

Where do you boat? Water conditions?

I here ya CJ and appreciate your wisdom. The problem is there is no Sunsations around to test drive. I think you are the closest one to me. Most everything is back on the East Coast. Dragonheart is the next closest but wouldnt be a fair comparison.

I guess I was thinking Ottawa was closer but I look at Mapquest.com and your on the East coast as well. So Dragonheart is the only thing close. Anyway I look at it everything is over 2K miles away.

All it will take is one test ride B2B! Trust me, compare this hull to those west coast boats, no coparison! Just walk across the nose and feel the flex on them. Then walk across a Sunsation! Solid!

I shouldn't speak for all boat makes. But I have noticed flex in Baja's, Fountains, Nordic, and a few others who's names escape me now.
