Default 288 or 32 mcob

Hey guys looking at buying a open bow. I currently have a 32 fountain fever with 500 hps. My problem is my dad and i own it together and he wants to go back to some type of open bow and i still want some speed. I love the concept of these boats and i know i will be happy but will they pull a skier or tuber on ocasion or is one better than the other or no. I found a 05 32 with 6.2s thats in our price range but i want to make sure it will make us both happy. Thanks tom

My question would be: Do you pull a skier with the fountain now? If so either will be fine!

I have a 6.2 boat and it jumps up on plane nicely and runs low 70's depending on fuel/passenger count. Call the factory in a few days (Miami show wraps up today) and ask for Joe and have the HIN number available. He will go over the file with you and tell you how it left the factory and any history he may know. Until then here is a Hot Boat article on the 32 6.2 boat: http://www.sunsationboats.com/articles/hotboat0304.pdf

BTW the 28 and 32 are IDENTICAL from the windshield/fairing back to the transom as far as sunpad/cockpit/width/etc. The 28 is a great boat as well with the 496 HO, runs high 60's

I don't have any problem pulling a skier with my Raylar 288...No rooster tail...no problems getting on plane. I haven't tuned in a prop yet but have seen 76 GPS with mine...should be good for 78 or so with the right prop.

My neighbor across the cove at LOTO used to pull tubes and skiers all the time with his 32 open bow. I believe it had 6.2s. Sunsation96 (Jon) owns it now. He posts over on the Sunsation site most every day if you want to contact him.
