Default 24 Rigging performance questions

Just wanted to say great forum.

I have Been following the posts and just purchased a 2002 with 250 EFI
Boat runs 66-67 MPH
Motor mounted on transon set one hole up
Prop 23P Trophy plus turning 6000 RPM

Is there much room for improvement on top speed with this power or is this considered about max for this set up.

Thinking about different prop and set backs. Any recommendations?

Superbash got his 24' to run 70-71mph with a 250HP outboard.
I believe he used a 12" setback with the 250. Now he's running with a 300X on a 18" setback and reaching 77-78mph.
He did lots and lots of testing and is the guy to get in touch with.
Superbash hangs a lot more on Scream&Fly than here on OSO...
Good Luck!

Re: 24 Rigging performance questions

Do you know what the Rev limiter is factory set to on 250? Thread above says 5800 . Im puling 6000 Rpm. Maybe tach is off.

Boat currently has good hole shot geat mid range

Sounds like 24P is the way to go with set back and Tie bars.

Any particular brand set back better than others? Recomendations?

Do they sell tie bar kits designed for this boat or is it a custom make your own arrangment?

Thanks for all the infomation! and that sure is a sweet 24 Pat

Cant wait till spring on the great south bay!

Hey Super1989,
Hunt down Superbash on Scream & Fly.
He will be happy to answer all of your questions.
But as far as I know, Stainless Marine engine mount and custom tie-bar setup. Like Zuperboat said, if your going to hang the engine off of the transom 12"-18", the tie bars are mandatory...
