what is a y2k ?
Hi guys, sorry to seem stupid, but what is the y2k? is there more room in the cockpit , than a 24' outboard ? is it a few feet in the bow and a few feet for the swim pad? is there more freeboard than the 24' ? are any stand up boats ? one of these days i'd dig to see one in person, but for now i just keep showin momma on the superboat web site thats our next boat. thanks Rick

The cockpit is about the same size as the 24 I/O. The Y2K is about 7' longer including the integrated platform. The engine compartment looks to be slightly longer on the on the Y2K. I'm guessing the freeboard is close. I consider my 24 to be a sit down boat. Others may say different.

Re: what is a y2k ?
thanks guys, so the y2k is not a stand up boat ? so size wise would they be comparable to lets say a 252 0r 272 baja ? sorry to make the comparison, don't like baja's, just want to get an idea, some times wish i would'nt live so far away so i could see one in person, so for now all i can do is drool. love my 24 super, so all is good anyway. Re: what is a y2k ?
I've been in both the Baja 272 and the Y2K.... the baja has more beam therefore the cockpit feels bigger but lengthwise I would say that is a fair comparison in cockpit feel. The biggest difference in those 2 is looking out over the fairings.... the baja has like 15' of nose and the SB has what seems like 25'. My personal opinion is until you get into the bigger bajas they feel like cruisers where the SB feels like a racer. Kinda like the difference between a mustang and a corvette.....

Re: what is a y2k ?
hey lightspeed, alls going good. your new boat looks great, more pics please. yeah startin to think of a y2k. from what i gather you need to put in an order almost a year in advance. bussiness has been good , so i'm maybe thinkin the end of next summer. anyway it's a bit early to kick tires with john c. what would be a price ball park on a y2k with a deluxe cabin, gotta do 70-75 mph with 4 people and 1/2 a tank of fuel, pump out head, all livorsi gauges, gotta have the embroidered emblem on the swim pad, steering ? k planes ? mounted on an eagle painted trailer. any other options i might want/need? thanks and may you and yours have a good christmas Rick
