Biggie does a 434 CI Small Block Marine motor, 10:1, pump gas, Solid Roller cam, 600 HP on the Dyno sheet, 6000 RPM redline.
doesn't rev like the one in the vid, but
It's a boat motor

Rob,
I'm by no means an engine expert, but this is my take on performance marine engines for pleasure boats.
For a naturally aspirated engines 1.1-1.2HP per cube tops. More than that the idle quality and reliability is going to be poor.
If you want a 500+HP small block for a boat, their are two choices. Supercharged or high dollar tall deck engine...

You can rev big blocks really high too. people think the shouldn't for some reason, but big blocks love to rev.
You aren't gonna do it in a boat though, the limiting factor on rpms in boats is drive breakage above 6000 rpm and cam selection which is all bottom end torqure. high reving car motors have no bottom end. they are built to run with a higher rpm range, say 3500-9000 rpm. they won't likely idle at 750 rpm and would stall trying to shift into gear or break the drive tranny shifting into gear w a high idle

Can't use BB they wont fit unless you give up all the cockpit... With the Y2K being so lite I would think you could sacrafice some torq for more mid-high power?

John That Is My Favorite Boat Of All Times. Lattona And Scrow Made It Look Like A Ride To Kismet. Zul Made 750hp With A 372 And That Was 15 Years Ago. Some Builder Cant Match His Talent 15 Years Later. What Can Build Today.
