I took the Coast Guard Auxiliary boating course at age 12 to get my boating license. Back then, 27+ years ago, you needed a license under the age of 16.
My first boat, a 9' Zodiac with a 6HP Evinrude. Now that is 10 boats ago...

Re: Boating License ???
Rentals suck no matter boat or PWC... they cause more accidents then anything else @ havasu... not only is everyone drunk but now you have a drunk with no clue about boats and operation. I would be the first to stand up and vote for licensing for operators!!!

Re: Boating License ???
Guys I grew up with the stand up JET SKIS a long time ago. Marcy and I have a pair of them, ( sit downs ) and we do enjoy them at times ( very hot days ) but the growth of the PWC has grown quite large ( cheap, easy on gas, big bang for the buck ) but they are very dangerous out on the bay, they never run parallel to you, always out of no where darting across your bow, almost KILLED 2 of last year ( by Accident ) and thats the private owned ones, THE RENTALS ARE WORSE

WE a a HUGE tour boat up here (the waves flipped the Ethan Allen you probably heard it on the news) and some guy on a rental hit it. Its not like you cant see a 145 foot boat!
