Default 24' Super Bad Stringers What Do I Do

I have a 1980 24' Superboat with bad stringers, the stringers need to be replaced I seen the boat really flex over the past three years. The boat is an outboard model with a stock 200 Yamaha. How big of a job is this ? and has anyone done this job if so what did it cost / who did the work ? Plus I need a new Gas tank so the floor must come up anyway. Thanks. I am on Long Island.

Default Question FX10

FX10: Question. What do you recomend on a 24' with a stringer problem. The stringers only look bad in the rear of the boat, but it is hard to tell.

Super,
Easy !!! First you call John Coen at Superboats 631-226-1761, and we'll take it from there. It wouldn't be all that hard to splice in a sectionn of stringer.

Rick

Thats the beauty of the smaller boat Co's.

By the way, I went to NC to visit the fountain factory back in 1985. Reggie spent a few hours with us at the plant. Then we went water skiing w/ one of his best friends who happend to be one of the top skiers at the time. The ski boat had been redone to look like a fountain, beak and all. Awsome hour of skiing. Then went back to his house, changed and went to dinner with Reggie and two of his guys from the plant.
Then he insisted we stay at his house for the night... which we did.

Pretty cool, considering our visit was to see his startup of the fishing line. Which ended up being to narrow for my fathers needs.

I was 15yrs old. Ahhh... memories of my youth.

I met a 21' Superboater today from Seaford, he said he replaced his stringers on his 1985 Superboat, his stringers had termite damage. He used 6"X2"X12 Stringers, used resign on the stringers before intalling the, cut his entire floor out, the fiberglassed them in. He made it sound way to easy. I was wondering is this a big and expensive job ?
