Todd, I will take a vid of the avanti motor on the dyno today Should be close to 600 hp.

Ok, will post the pic/vids tonight, about 100 degrese very humid, cam to big she made 500 hp. 30 more than a hp500 and the same as a 525. It has a lot mre hp left in it.

Don't fool around with any Merc Stuff. Listen to Lightspeed and Pure Energy and build a JC Performance Mill for what ever boat you decide on THolland.....

I heard the new 496HO's come with Forged pistons. Am I wrong???

Hi Rick,
Sorry, but yes you are wrong. All the GM 496cube/8.1L engines come through stock with cast pistons, even the 525HP HP3.
There are aftermarket kits with forged pistons available now though.

It's my understanding that some of the very first 496 HOs came with forged internals.
