Super Air,
Are soft transoms and bad stringers common to the older Superboats. I am looking for an O/B 30' as well, like the older Tempest model, but want a solid boat- cosmetics I can live with.

302 Ive heard low 90,s The key word here is heard. The 3 foot notch is to be abit faster but cant handle big water like the full length bottom and the 9 inch notch. I think the milk boat has a full bottom and a bracket. Now thats some length. Its funny how they all go 90 until you bring the GPS.

Most of the older Superboats are well taken care of, and are in great shape. I have seen alot of 1979's 80's to 85's in amazing shape. - but then you get the hand full that were neglected. I seen a 1976 24' last year outboard and it was ready to crack in half at the back seat the stringers were so bad. I bought it for the trailer and #'s only. (( I have a 30' o/b model - Tempest some minor spider cracks at the transom but in amazing shape I picked it up for a song in NJ w/o a motor in great shape. )) Keep looking this is the time of year to buy - goto www/craigslist.com click on the NY area and look every few days, Long Island Newsday is great place in there classified ad's and www.ebay.com of course.
