Default SUPERBOAT P5 National Champs 2 years back to back!

Big Congrats to Mark and Owen, Team Specialized for earning the P-5 Championship TWO YEARS IN A ROW!!!

Man, that old 30 Superboat works well! Not many 20 year old race boats out there still winning championships!

Great job guys

-Kurt

I'm not so sure about that. Zup, you have talked to JC as I have and his sales did go up with the new deck on the 30.
I do like the old school look but I'll be buying a sit down boat next and that seems to be the trend these days. I'm not quite sure how that the old deck style works with sit down seats. I guess your boat is the prototype...
We have talked about if maybe the 24' should get a new deck like the 30 did. Maybe that would help sell 24s again.
IMO the new 21’ deck is not as nice as the old and lots of people agree. Bring back the old 21’ deck would probably make more sense than the old 30’ deck...

I like the look of both decks, but I prefer the tempest. What I really like is the outboards.

My thoughts, I fell in love with the Tempest back in the day, but the Y2K Deck is one of the best looking in the V"s around. I think the Tempest looks great with O/B's. As for I/O Y2K is the winner.

Pat we talked about making a Y2K2 a 24 with the new deck. Good idea !! I do think if I put a Y2K deck on my tempest it mite pick up a few mph. The front windscreen area of the tempest probably adds some drag and downforce. On the 21,s I dont know anyone who would pick the new deck over the old one,s. Im not sure They even have the mold for the 21 anymore. Im sure business in boat building is way down. If someone wanted any of the above JC and Rick would have a hard time saying no to anything. Although I would incorperate my cabin door and a molded swim platform into a new tempest mold. But what do I know.
As for the sitdown yes prototype again. It works for me because im 6ft tall. And made a very short windscreen.Someone shorter would have a problem. You would have to make an raised insert for the floor so they can sit at a good height and still reach the floor with their feet. Not a big deal. If I can think it Rick can make it NICEEEEE !!
