Hey nice boat. I have a '94 I've had it for three years now. It had a 225 Evunrude vindicator but I got tired of re-building it so I put a 2000 mercury 300 pro max x on it. I haven't found a good prop for it yet and I see that you have a 300 on yours also. Can you make any recomendations? What rpm's are you turning and what speeds are you getting? Any information ar sugestions write ar wrong good or bad would be a big help.

Yeah I figure that I need more set back. What kind of a set back plate are you running it looks like a good one. I'm not geting the speeds that you are. With a 26 quicksilver chopper I got approx 84 mph @ 5500 rpm but the boat was a total dog in the mid range. With a mazco re4 that is re worked to a 27 I ran 80 mph @5600rpm but the boat ran great in the mid range and out of the hole. I have a 27 DAH omc raker that ran really well on the 225 evinrude but it is hubed for omc and it won't fit on my merc correctly. I've tryed a mirage and a bravo 4 blade and they were terrible at best. So rite now I don't know what to do with it because I have tryed a number of props and pitches and I have not gotten the results that I think it is capeable of running. I think my next move is to try a couple of smaller pitched props tro try and get the rpms up and to add set back. Now im in the peocess of installing a gps spedo and a digital tach so I will have some more accurate numbers to work with. One more thing with the 225 evinrude it ran mid 70's @ 6200rpm with the DAH prop and the motor was not stock it had porting heads etc.etc..

My Legend
Just bought a Pro Max 300 and I am going to try a 25 Trophy for my first prop.
I have 12" of setback. With a DAH 24 Chopper and my Pro Max 225 it ran mostly 70 but highest speed was 74.5
Hoping for mid 80s with the 300.
