Pat, Johnny, I would say your correct about the whipple making 750 + hp on a 502, also remember the new NXT-1 Drive is rated up to 800 hp. !!!!!!!!

I dont understand why you would take a supercharged engine and change the supercharger setup to something different when you already have the same thing? The answer lies with the ECM... the computer already turns up boost to compensate for climate and altitude. Just need to reprogram it so it will boost more all the time. There are guys out there that will program up what you want... AZ speed/marine comes to mind. I'm sure whipple's setup would work but why would you want to bastardize a 600? Hell if the option came down to using a whippled 502 I would by a whole new setup and keep the 600 for the next boat or resale...

We are talking about turning up the boost on Gary's existing 600. Not changing the blower. If there was someone that had a new program for the 600, Gary would have already done it. Merc holds the cards for this one. The ECM/PCM used on the new Merc 525 and 600 would need to be replaced and then there is the issue of the smartcraft system. Whipple's package for the 525EFI does include a new brain MFEI4 and such.

Rob, as Pat said Merc holds the Ace card with upgrades, and with the 700 sci out there ( which is the upgrade @ 700 hp ) no one seems to be working the ECM/REFLASH, so it looks like the 600sci will stay stock (as is ) for the next onwer.
