The easy way to get 700 !! It has to cost less then a new 700. Hell, when you get your motor back it will be good as new. Should be able to handle it.

For Sure...
I'm assuming your engine builder has a dyno. You could be the first to have a 600sci converted to a 700...
I like that part about limiting the peak torque to save the drive...

Pat, I know I said I no more mods, done looking for more speed. Well with this announcement I will be stopping in at the Raylar booth on Thursday to talk to them.

We are never done looking for more speed...

IMO the first thing to do with your 496 is to modify or change your exhaust.
Talk to Raylar about the CNC porting program they have for your existing manifolds and the testing they have done with the new Dana exhaust for the 496 engines.
I believe that there is 30 to 50HP to be gain with exhaust mods/changes alone...

Raylar seems to be the best source for upgrades on the new 496cube engines.

I have been keeping an eye on the Dana exhaust, looks impressive. However I am skeptical that a base 496 will truly see 30 to 50 hp.

Heck, if I can get a couple more ponies and keep the transom clean with a slight ECM mod. I would be happy

Well T, Dana is claiming +48HP for the 375HP 496Mag and +43HP for the 425HP 496MagHO on the dyno at Raylar...

I changed to Stainless Marine manifolds from the cast iron exhaust on my 310HP/7.4MPI the second year I had my boat. I saw a 200rpm and 2mph increases with the same prop. That was probably 25-30HP. Your engine has better exhaust stock than that one did though.
