After living with the SB a while now, taking people of all sizes for rides, I want to begin a search for some foot rests - I didn't think of them when I ordered, as I had no experience with 'sit-down' boats, but I think they could be a welcome addition. Several people with body geometries that don't match the seats have mentioned they wished they had a foot rest. My only concern is how easily they can be stowed out of the way - can you or Rick send me some pictures? I might have to order a set.

Keith, You Know I Was Thinking About That Way Back In Oct. When I Ordered Superbabi. We Were At Superboat With John And I Was Looking At Once Bitten, And I Thought It Would Be A Good Idea, You Know In That Sit Down Position To Grab A Solid Footing With Your Feet. There Are No Photos Yet, Just An Idea In Johns Mind On What They Should Be. I Will Be At Superboat Feb. 18 Week End, So I Will Get More Info For You. Perhaps You Would Like To Order A Pair. Thanks For Your Always Valued Imput!!!! Gary

No prob - I envision a plate, hinged and spring loaded, mounted to the vertical bulkhead. It could be powder coated aluminum, or just brushed to take the abuse. Some alternatives would be a bar that one could place their feet under, like the bar on a roller coaster. It should swing away and out of normal traffic area, and provide solid support at ~2-4" above the floor. My friend's Velocity T-Bred has an angled floor pad built into the floor that works well - maybe Bglz42 can post a pic?

Rick and John, look at 1st class airplane seat foot rests too - they fold away and may be a ready application. Just some ideas.......

Early On I Asked John To Do The Foot Rests In Fiberglass, Even In The Mold, That Was A No Go, After Speaking To John It Will Be Same Contractor Who Does Pass. Side Handle Bar.

The newer 24s come with a nice fiberglass foot insert for the driver side bulkhead.
Dave M. and I both bought them from JC and installed them ourselves. They work great!
I would also be interested in something for the passenger...
JMK installed a hinged step in his 24 that serves dual purpose of helping to get to the deck and something to push against with your foot.

My passengers always complain about not having somewhere to put there feet. I'd like to see some pics of JMK's setup. Is it carpet over wood? Fiberglass? I was thinking of using a metal bar too. Have flanges welded on the ends and screw to the floor. I noticed th "Typhoon" Kryptonite race boat had them.

I guess with Y2k's in full production there is little hope of any new mods to the '24. I guess I will just have to upgrade!

Just something simple like this would help.....
