Let The Projects Begin
We dragged this baby into my basement last night around midnight...
It was a deal I could not refuse.

Re: Let The Projects Begin
Dave, It's a 1997 with 480 or so hours.
It was still running when we pulled it, but is in need of a rebuild.
I'm hoping it only needs rings, bearings, and a valve job, but we'll see.
I should be able to use the serpentine set up from my Volvo 7.4.
The wife was right when she named the boat "For Now"...
So Dave, I guess you and I will be buying 28p props next year...

Do yourself a favor and don't run the stock exhaust on that motor. I think that was the demise of my motor.
I just bought a 26P too, my motor broke the first time out with the new prop. Anybody want a 26P Bravo prop, used 2 hours?

Re: Let The Projects Begin
Hey Dave,
I've got Stainless Marine Manifolds on my 7.4; I'll likely switch them over.
My 26p prop has been worked over a lot during the last 2 years, sand bars, logs, Hail propeller, Houston propeller, vice-grips... So a new prop is needed any how.
I do have a 24p Bravo I with about the same time as your 26p; Anyone need one?

Hey ZZ,
How are things? Did you get out for another run in your baby yet?
I think I'll rebuild the engine stock. I got my balls busted about exhaust noise enough this past summer...
With a stock 502 I should still gain 8-10mph over my 7.4.

Pat Im tucked away for the winter. All I have to do is backoff the valves. But I still have hope of trying the prop before I order a spacer. My guess for you is about 5 mph over the 454.Whatz up with the noise level in conn.I guess I dont get busted because the boat always on the trailer or the hoist.Im going to be very optomistic about next year.If it sells ,it sells.Im not realy pushing it and if not im going to use the crap out of it.I bought it with 50 hrs and to date now has 101.

Hey ZZ,
From hearing you and Jcap talk about needing a lot of bow lift to make those 30s run fast, your going to need a spacer...
My boat ran a best of 66mph with the stock 310/7.4MPI and a best of 70mph after I modified the 7.4MPI. She is running 66-67 with the motor back to stock and the Stainless Marine exhaust.
I am hoping she'll run 75+mph with the 415/502MPI...
Krackmeup,
I need to fix up my trailer too. New wiring, lights, fender mounts, and tires if I'm going to trailer down to LI next year...
The interior will have to wait until the following year.
