Hey chris i ran out ot Block on a quarter tank and back runnin about 60 and full throttle a couple times just to get the feel (its a new boat to me) Id rather stick with a single. Thats pretty good fuel usage on your part and i assume your using 93? I dont mind the Atlancit in my 26 Velocity either great ridin boat and now i know how to use the tabs even better!!!

Chris, WELL SAID.
My 24 w/ 560hp burned about what you do at the same speeds.
I've been tossing the idea of a 28 with either big single and some kind of drive that could handle it, or smaller twin sbc, w/bravos that would always be reliable and running.
Something to be said about being able to use her.

yep, the 26 runs great in the rough stuff (within reason), and a spare motor incase of a konk is reassuring...
as far as the fuel, i can run 67 miles to Block Island, putt-putt around, and make the run back on about 60 gallons...cruising at 45-48..that's about 2mpg on twin SBC's...
no, it's not the fastest, but the ride through "the race" is NO issue, nor are ferry wakes or swells in Block I. Sound (that's the Atlantic)...
it ain't a 41 apache, but if i break something, i'm comfortable knowing i won't break the bank getting back in the water in a day or two...
again, pick realistic goals...come on, it still looks cool idling through a flock of sailboats....and on plane, not many people are going to get a good look anyhow..
just a mid-week ramble............

j...
that boat puts out about 280 hp per, and should run right around 70 (maybe a hair above)..dave??...
...there are lots of arguements about the alpha....some say 400hp is max...provided it's SB horsepower, a BB's torque will bust 'em..
a well built 350, 330hp should get the low-mid 70's in a reliable turn-key pkg...
sting, i was thinking more like $1K with the right research...

CG's guesses are probly about right, but maybe a bit conservative. I don't know how much work was done to the motors, but they ain't stock. She'll do 70mph anytime, anywhere. Maybe a few more MPH in there in the right conditions. As for shipping, I think you'd be hard pressed to move a boat that big 3k miles for $1k, but ya never know.

uship works great. Especially if you give it a week - 10 days cushion on the departure.

Came from Havasu to Houston for 800 a couple months ago. Fuel had to be almost that much.
