Re: Old Sutphens
I have a '70 Sutphen 17' jet boat with a berkley JE pump and a 455 olds engine. No picture handy but she has absolutely beautiful lines with a large factory scoop on the engine hatch.
Very fun boat but she is currently in need of a little TLC.

Re: Old Sutphens
Dear all, my name is Simone,
a new member and can't post new topics because I have no creditcard (I live on Curacao, an island in the Caribbean).
I truly hope I can find someone who knows enough about Sutphen powerboats.
I'm thinking about buying a Sutphen Powerboad, build '92, 39 feet, two inside engines (800 hp each).
The reason why I want to buy this boat is because I want to offer powerboat chartertours to tourists visiting the island.
The sea of Curacao (offshore) is known to be extremely rough at times. Can anyone tell me if this boat I've got my eye on is the right boat for these conditions?
Many thanks in advance guys, any help I can get is more then welcome!
Kind regards,
Simone Leeflang

Re: Old Sutphens
Anybody seen a 1983 20' with dk red sides, white deck, alpha 350 with Gills around? I traded it to the old dealer Offshore Speed & Ski in 86 and haven't heard of it since.

Bob: I think I may have looked at that boat maybe 10 or so years ago in MA called "Diamond Cutter", guy was in the concrete cutting business. Nice boat, got any pics?

Re: Old Sutphens
Matt I only took a couple pics of it. It was a nice piece, garage kept. Had a slightly worked 350/370 with an Alpha and a nose cone lower. I had heard it was stolen after I traded it and they pulled the motor and left the hull. That was the last info I had heard.

gran sport is correct so thanx for your knowledge of these fine vintage boats. I have a 73 in origional gel. My friend has a 77 sport pacer jet, I owned 2 sport pacers one in high school with a L88 and one I restored later with a LS6 down the street from me is a pristine 20 in maroon and cream and there are numerous 17s around. My best sut is a 26 with a 525 that is my last boat .Ted
