I am installing a used set of stainless marine exhaust manifolds on the 20' Sutphen and need the brackets to convert from stock Mercury equiped 1991 7.4, as shown in the picture, to a tidy new setup. The risers didn't come with brackets attached to mount shift cables or ignition module. Can I use the Merc bracket as a template to make stainless ones and weld to risers? What is the best solution for this and the oil filter relocation.
Thanks
Phil

Sutphil,
You can mount the shifter assembly to the transom, as well as using a piece of aluinum angle to mount your remote oil filter to the transom as long as you have the room. The ignition module can be mounted to the rear of the port head. You will need 2 1/2 inch spacers and drill an additional hole in the ignition module bracket to mount it to the head.
