Default Merc 454 4bolt main needs rebuild , RPM intake , large oval ports

454 Merc needs rebuild , Edelbrock rpm intake , large ovalports ( post 1 of 1)

454 Merc out of my boat, blew a headgasket and cooked a piston ,
will throw in the heads if you want them but they are peanut ports, .
Engine was still running and had good/normal oil pressure and water temp before I pulled it out. Extremely clean engine inside and had about 300 hours.
No fuel pump boss so I think its a gen 5 but it does not have a roller cam .
No oil pan, intake, flywheel, balancer or timing cover.. $300 picked up in Lago Vista (30miles NW of Austin)

Edelbrock rpm intake for BBC , painted orange , $100 picked up

large oval ports
#6272292
show up as 70-77 454,chevelle,corvette,etc
crane dual springs and normal car style rebuild.
Do not have hardened seats.
$300 picked up

I have a great 502 mag with 470 hours on it if you need a replacement. The 502 has never even had a valve cover removed...just a solid stock 415 HP motor.

thanks but a little late ,
bought a Merc 502 shortblock for on ebay
and just had it gone thru at the machine shop.
Basically ended up with a balanced and fresh 502 shortblock for $2000
Just need to locate some proper heads now.

If you still have this stuff after the weekend, I will come get all of it. I use those parts a lot.
