496 blower short block brand new
I have a brand new (except for the block) 496CI engine set up for a blower.
It has a Callies forged crank 4" stroke. It has a 6.385 Manley forged rod, It has a set of JE pistons.
Everything is internally balanced, Machine work and assembly done by Owens racing in Houston. Very top level engine shop in our area.
This engine is 7.5:1 comp static. I have done 700HP with just a 250 blower and a chiller. It will make more power with an 8-71 and a chiller.
Aluminum heads are available. I also havev a Madero solid roller cam. Don't have the specs, but it does need a thru transom tail.
Still at the machine shop awaiting final assembly. Total cost on all this was $6200. I will let it go for the remaining balance owed of $3100.
This is a great upgrade to anyone with a 525SC, or a HAWK variant.
