Default trade 496HO's for HP500's

Looking at possibly trading Low Hour 496HOs (approx 220hrs) for HP500's or other comparables... they are from 2002 so they have the good cranks

Not looking to trade for motors worth 30k or anything crazy like that, just looking for 500-600hp you can PM me here or email me: [email protected]
Thanks
-AJ

I didnt say it had to be straight up, and maybe someone had some 500's that needed a top end refresh or something?
Did you ever think of that?

What ya got Jay?? Some more of them 509's?

OK, just giving you a hard time anyway. I paid $20,000 for a nice 525 on this forum. My POS 496 was shipped to germany. Good riddance...

Not every 496 is a POS like yours was,,most are good running bullet proof engines and merc would still be using them if GM did not discontinue building the 8.1 block..
All you need is a qualified tech to work on them when theres a problem with them,,a tech that knows how to hook up a scaner and read data and know what the data means and make a correct repair,,

and you will never have to worry about a 496 dropping a valve like a 525 will ..

Mine ran flawlessly. Still a POS white elephant IMO.

Both of mine run great too, I however don't think they are white elephants. I wanted a boat that had 496s to avoid more expensive maintenance costs and spend the extra money on fuel.

I know viewing your posts that you love that Donzi with the blue motor and are very proud of it, I must admit I loved the helicopter pics you posted awhile back....but those motors aren't for everybody.

See you out on the lake next summer for a beer.
