Louisville Boat Show
The Louisville Show runs 1-24 to 2-1.
Did anyone go last weekend? How was it?
Anyone up for a road trip this week?
I think I am going Friday or Saturday.
Regards,
Steve

The show was smaller and more expensive this year. Lake Cumberland's booth was much smaller than usual. They had a 42' Outerlimits/Merc 1075s with an ugly copper to orange and blue paint job for a tidy $1,200,200+. Good luck on that. Great boat with ugly paint..........very unTaodish.
The only other performance boat in the booth was 33' Fountain with 496mags.
UPM had a booth full of Nordics, a 25' Rage, 2 28' Heats, a 27' Lightning tunnel deck boat (I must be getting old because I think these things are really cool), and a 42' Inferno (demo?) with 700 Mercs for a relatively cheap $295,000.
There were a couple of nice Sunsations. The 32' had some really nice Mitcher T paint. Probably the prettiest boat at the show.
There were several Bajas at the show, all 2008s, so I didn't see any of the new Fajas. It will be interesting to see how the '09 Fountain built boats look and run.
Lots of cool looking and fast new jet skis. All the major companies (Yamaha, Kawasaki, Sea Doo) have 200+ HP supercharged skis. 70MPH right out of the box with lots of nice amenaties.
Thanks to the always friendly UPM crew for the drinks and hospitality.
The show was a reflection of the times, downsized, but great boats, hopeful for better economic times ahead.

A comment from someone on wakeworld.com:
Other than the guys from Boatworks, disappointing through and through. I understand the economy is rough and I have read of other shows being cancelled and downsized but man it was different from last years. Further, they charged an additional $9 to look at just the houseboat section which was not all that big either. I suppose I'm venting but if you're going to put on a boat show do it.
However the guys (and gals) at Boatworks hooked me up with a new Ronix One board (08) for $200, which I thought was a pretty good deal.

Hey Steve,
It was nce meeting you and Linster at the show. Sorry we missed you guys at dinner, we had a couple people take a nap (aka pass out) between the show and dinner and weren't able to get them moving for dinner till about 9:30 or so.
See you at the Knoxville River Rally!

Nice to meet you and your wife. I can't imagine why they had to take a "nap" . Next year, we'll have to get UPM's booth closer to the rest rooms.
Looking forward to seeing you in Knoxville ...........

Steve
