took burned up starter out yesterday evening. Found out that all of pieces on front have disentigrated and fallen into bell housing. Have to figure out how to get those out before I can move to next step. I changed plugs and jets in rear motor so it is ready for a lake test after i adjust the idle settings. I have hooked up trannies correctly so they are ready for test to see if I screwed them up. I have ordered new starter from palmer power. I washed the outside yesterday and it at least looks like a boat again.
I have to go to houston this evening to look at a claim. I will work on tomorrow a little in the evening and see how far I can get.
I am not in a hurry now. Next poker run is not for a while.
I have been to the dark side and am not in a hurry to return soon.

Does your bellhousing have an inspection hole? If so cram a magnet down there and wave it around a few times to get any metal shards out.....it might work.

going to try tom's magnet that flexes. only axcess is through starter hole on top. If I run it with that gear down there it could get caught on the ring gear at speed and tear something up.
On a positive note. UPS just delivered the starter. Looks like I will stop at club 105 on the way home from houston.

Wade and I both saw that and were conspiring on how we could ditch the run and check it out,, but then we looked across the horizon and saw all those boats lined up ready to go,, and our classified searches went blank for the next several hours.
