Chevy vs GMC truck?

Re: Chevy vs GMC truck?
Bodies have small differances i.e grill, headlights..... The GMC's are generaly priced slightly higher than the Chevy when compared to a comparable truck i.e. Chevy LT vs GMC SLT with same engine and options.

Same trucks. I think 1987 was the last year of seperate lines. The old GMCs for the most part had higher gross vehicle weights than Chevy's.

I can speak as a mechanic who has worked on both models for a long time. Besides cosmetics, there is absolutely no difference between the 2 trucks. Just your personal opinion of which you prefer. I liked the grill better on a Tahoe, sothat's what I have. No other reason swayed me.

Re: Chevy vs GMC truck?
A couple of years ago I was inthe market for a new SUV. I like the styling of the GMC Yukon Denali, and drove one. Really nice truck. Sticker 50,700 (loaded).
I drove a similar Z71 Tahoe. All the equipment was the same (OnStar/Leather/sunroof/tow package/XM/mags) except the Denali did have the larger 6.0 litre Vortec (the Chevy has a 5.3) and full time 4WD.
Sticker on the Tahoe was 43,500. Did I like the Denali better than the Z71? A little. The full time 4WD is a gas guzzler and totally unecessary in the south, but the 6.0 did have some extra power. Was it worth $7000 more , hardly.
I bought the Chevy and still like it.
Both dealers agree that GM has positioned GMC as the "prestige" truck brand for their Pontiac/Buick dealers. I think they've listened to their own ads for too long .
Regards,
Steve
