Programmer for 2006 Duramax 6-speed
Does anyone know of a programmer for a 2006 6 speed duramax/allison. This is the LLY engine. Apparently this combinations may be an orphan child as there is a new Duaramax coming out next spring.
I have called Edge and Bullydog. no products available as yet.
Thanks

The LLY became available in late 04. The problem is the six speed duramax which came out in Sept 05.

Re: Programmer for 2006 Duramax 6-speed
I called some more companies and DR Performance http://www.drperformance.com/index.html said that they will have a programmer available in about 2 weeks. I was starting to get worried that I had bought the only Duramax/Allison combo that was not going to be supported by the after market

LLY/5 speed allison is not a problem. Apparently only a couple of months worth will get the LLY and 6 speed Allison. Then starting with build date 9/15/05 they get the LBZ/6 speed allison.
How do I contact PMT chips?
Thanks

Re: Programmer for 2006 Duramax 6-speed
The LBZ wasn't on the asembly line until the week after the Sept 15th projected date.... maybe starting the week of the 26th.... for some reason it was about 10 days late, at least at the Flint plant.... Nonetheless, it looks to be a good engine. My '06 LLY was built on the 14th.... this is the QUIETEST diesel i've been around in my lifetime, and i've been working on diesel's for over 32 years now... there is a Diablo 6 speed programmer in the works soon, the Diablo engineer just left my office 10 minutes ago, after checking a couple things on mine....

Re: Programmer for 2006 Duramax 6-speed
I thought my 01 Dmax was quiet until I heard the new engine. Only thing loud about the new truck is the Turbo. What did they change in the LLY's? Are they the newer blocks?
Can you use these programmers to calibrate for larger tires while leaving the fuel management stock? I am thinking about going with 285's this time. The 265's didn't seem to make a difference.
