Default How much discounting on a new GMC 2500 HD

I am looking at a 2006 2500 hd crew cab short bed. It has the new Duramax and six speed trans. The window sticker is close to 49K, the dealers price to me was $44,100. I think it should be down to 42.This truck just came in, he has another one in white, (not for me) on the lot of over a month... What do guy see these selling for?

It depends on what factory incentives to the dealer are going on at the time. I think that the sticker on mine was 46,800 and I paid about 42 K or something like that...maybe a little less

At 49,900 MSRP dealer is paying about 43,800.

Now if there are dealer incentives, or rebates that comes off their invoice or off what you pay.

$ 1000 cash w/ LBZ engine

Make sure your truck has the LBZ Duramax as they only started putting in this motor in the 3rd or 4th week of September. Not that there is anything wrong with the 2nd generation LLY that I got in my 06. The motors appear to be the same, and the LLY's built in the 3rd quarter with the six speed Allison are definetly stronger and quieter than the ones buit earlier in the year.

Mine stickered for 49750. and paid 42450. I figure about 15%.Dealer invoice was 42050.. he still made his 3% hold back ,Then I got the rebates.

Rebates are the key! I bought my 03 in August of 03 (2500 GMC Crew Cab Diesel Allsion 2WD LS) for 33K +tax,tag and the sticker was 44K. Back then they had a 2K rebate on the diesels and 3500 on the leftovers. The dealer had 6 on the lot and just gave them away. I thought it was a scam but when I got there the truck was new and as exactly as described. I still can't believe I got 11K off sticker on a truck. I bought from a dealer online and travelled 2 hours to get the truck. This was a no trade in deal so I didn't get screwed on a trade. I suspect the diesels are selling for close to sticker now with the surge in fuel prices. Truck has been great so far (60K miles) and I have only bought tires for it. Still getting used to the clack,clack,clack of the diesel. I still prefer the ride of a 1500 with the 5.3 Vortec motor but like the diesel for towing, crew cab space.
