05 Ford Dually F350 Powerstroke Question
Took the truck to dinner. After dinner it wouldn't start. We walked around a bit, tried again, called a cab, tried again and still no go.
The next morning we went back and decided to try one more time before calling for the warranty service. It fired right up.
Any ideas?

Sold it. This is the replacement. Never had a lick of trouble with the 02. Have only had this one for two weeks.
We got the 05 home the other day, washed it and pulled it in the garage. Went to fire it up this morning and it won't start. So this is the second time. Next time it starts it is going to Coconut Point Ford.

dennis , there are a couple of selanoids on top of the motor that are responsible for the glow plugs make sure the leads are clean. they may be bad. glow plugs probably not the problem . bill (your taxi service on grosse ile)

In florida it shouldn't have to depend on the glow plugs to fire. In the summer here, I just get in and hit the key without waiting and mine fires right up. Sounds like something sensor related to me.

Re: 05 Ford Dually F350 Powerstroke Question
Hey Bill ! I came back to Ohio yesterday. Sure is cold up here. Heading back south shortly.
The truck is under warranty and Ford Roadside Service will tow it for free! My big problem is getting it out of the garage. The apron leading from the road to my drive is steep and the tow trucks cannot get back far enough. Even box van delivery trucks have problems.
The tow drivers said unless the drive shaft is disconnected they will not drag it out of the garage. Fear of damaging the tranny.
I put a call in to the local Ford dealer to get some direction.

Re: 05 Ford Dually F350 Powerstroke Question
The dealer is going to send a tech to the house. If they can't start it they will push it out of garage so the tow truck can hook it.
That is service.
