i like it other than the shorter bed, well that and the tranny, though i read somewhere that they are changing that. If that is true...good buy, if you don't mind the shorter than normal bed

The bed on the Mega Cab is 6.25 feet which is shorter than your normal short bed. The frame for the Mega Cab is the same one used on a long bed Quad Cab which is why there is no long bed option for the Mega.
The trans behind the 6.7 Cummins (2007.5 model year) will be the new 68RFE six speed auto. The Chassis Cab models will receive the Aisin AS68RC automatic. For the first time ever in Dodge history, trucks with the automatic will receive higher power ratings. The G56 6-speed manual trans is a carry over for all models.
If you purchase a current 5.9 engine, you will get the current 48RE automatic. It has had a much better reputation than the 47RE autos in past model years.
Of course the big question is how reliable will the 2007.5 and up Diesels be in the long run toting around all of the extra EPA bull chit?
Some nice things the new 6.7 gets is the ability for the turbo to act as an exhaust brake as well as a water cooled turbo instead of oil cooled. That is a nice step in the right direction.
I am looking forward to getting some seat time in one to see how it compares to my old 5.9 and NV5600 truck.

I just went and looked at the 07's with a friend today. nice trucks NO bed at all on the mega cabs though... its TINY. put a tool box in it and you might be able to get some groceries in it. Other than that its a nice truck.. he has a 05 he wants to trade in on it.

The bed is small. For me the interior room was more important. After 4 suburbans it was tough to go to a pick-up but i needed a dually. The suburban handled all my hauling duties so the small bed with a roll-top cover will fit my needs.
