Air bags & sway bar vs. weight dist. hitch.
In the past I have always been "way over" on my trucks, F-250 / 350 towing a 27' Formula kinda thing, so never really needed to think much about this stuff, but... Now I am looking at towing an '02 25' Sunsation w/ a small block with an '05 4Runner. Truck is rated at 5,200lbs. towing cap., boat and trailer will be at about 4,700 (trailer is a tandem & has surge brakes). I'd like to add a bit of stability to the rig - dealer says "no worries" - I say, "I like a little extra" - albeit I'll only be towing short distances (<15 mi. at a pop) a couple times a year, I don't want to take any chances. So, air bags and sway bar or weight dist. hitch or neither and something all-together different, thoughts, advice...?
Thanks,
Mark

I would think that you are good with air bags and sway bar for the use you have mentioned.
You probably need to look at mirrows. Back when I towed a 21 foot Baja with a Jeep Grand Cherokee I could not see behind me with the stock mirrors.
Good Luck

Air Lift 1000 Airbags are what you want. Don't worry about a sway bar, it won't change anything.
However, I would not want to be towing with a 4Runner.

Definitely air bags. WD hitch is probably not beneficial on that weight. Sway bar won't hurt but likely not biggest bang for the buck. Buy the best auto-adjusting gas shocks you can find- bigger springs won't help if you can't control the motion. Tires will also make a big difference.

Ok, airbags (and shocks) it is... who's the best to buy from (internet)?
And BT, it's only back an fourth from the the ramp to the lake house a couple times a season for maint. and cleaning / waxing - but I knew you were going to say that . At least I didn't say I was towing with a Jeep CJ!?

As long as you're "REALLY CAREFUL", you'll be OK.
